"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything" ~ Aaron Siskind
I have always loved photographs.
My father was a voracious photographer. Not a good photographer mind you. But he loved taking photos nevertheless. He has dozens of photo albums, hundreds of slides and hours of old movie reels. It is through him that I discovered the wonder, the magic, the POWER of photography.
Some of my most treasured childhood memories are of our family 'movie nights' when dad would wheel out the movie or slide projector and we would spend a few hours traveling back through time. For me, there was nothing I loved more than to sit there and see my parents young and in love, rocking the fabulous 50's fashion. To giggle at me and my sisters in our terrible 70's outfits and bad hairstyles. To walk down memory lane and revisit all the places we had traveled to, the houses we'd lived in and reminisce about old friends and family who were no longer with us.
Those nights would connect us as a family. Those nights helped us remember and relive the milestones that were important to our family's story. My father's photographs are our history, captured forever so that it may never be forgotten.
And this is why I love to photograph people and their life. I am passionate about helping you build a legacy for your future family. So your grandchildren, great-grandchild and beyond can marvel at the youthful glory of their grandparents, giggle at the ancient technology (what's an iPod Grandpa?) and mock the trends of the past (Justin Beiber hairstyles, I'm talking to you!).
It's a cliche, but life moves fast. Let me capture these important times so that you can remember the little things long after the moments have passed.
Love and light,
