Teagan - Social Media Photo Shoot, Carlisle

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years." ~ Audrey Hepburn

If you’re a regular reader to my blog, you will be familiar with this beautiful face. We’ve done baby bump sessions, maternity photos and family photo shoots together; but recently it has been her social media shoots that have really allowed our creative juices to really get flowing.

Teagan launched her amazing blog Two Kids Raising Kids less than a year ago and it has resonated with so many women in such an important way. Her blog is going absolute gang-busters and she was even featured in national online magazines when she wrote about her struggles with post-natal depression and a rare breast feeding disorder that left her with debilitating anxiety. Her mission is to build a close-knit community of women, connecting them together and creating a space where they feel supported, safe, loved and accepted. Teagan does this by opening herself up - exposing herself raw and unfiltered - in the hope that other women will see they aren’t alone in their struggles and reach out for help and support.

Teagan herself has been victim to some shockingly hateful comments and email from other women; judged unfairly over her weight (‘skinny shaming’ is a largely unspoken type of bullying that needs to be eradicated immediately!! C’mon girls. We’re better than that!!) and admonished over the way she is raising her children. But she bravely continues to move forward, sharing her stories in the hope they will help someone out there who feels helpless, hopeless and ready to give up.

So needless to say I adore collaborating with this amazing girl and I’m honoured to be a part her mission in a small way.

We were due for another social media photo shoot to top up her cache of stock photos that she can use on her Instagram account and blog. As always, Teagan had some amazing ideas and had taken care to ensure they reflect her exact, authentic self as well as her mission to unite women. But this time, I am proud to say that Teagan really pushed herself outside of her comfort zone. She really wants to take her mission to the next level, and that meant pushing her own boundaries so that she can inspire women to bravely be who they are, love themselves unconditionally and give a big middle finger to the haters who try to bring you down!

I’m thrilled to say our last photo shoot delivered some of my favourite photos of her so far.

I really encourage you to look past the obvious beauty of this young woman and to explore her blog and Instagram account. It is there that you will find an extraordinarily brave, enlightened, kind and compassionate human who is stepping up and doing her bit to change the way women see themselves and how they treat one another (and the planet!).

I am proud to call Teagan my friend and incredibly proud to document her personal growth and journey. She inspires me to be brave and to allow myself to shine my own light regardless of what others may think. I hope that by connecting to her blog that she might do the same for you.

Love and light,
